While firms can precisely configure their supply chains, there remains huge variability when goods are in transit. This wide-ranging variability in transit timing negatively impacts companies’ end-to-end accuracy. As Vicki explains, however, “If you can get to a 90% accuracy rather than a 200% variability for your in-transit part, your whole supply chain is improved.”
